A streamlined National Contract Value Review (NCVR) process is currently being piloted, developed jointly between NHS England, DHSC, NIHR and HRA with the Devolved Nations and in close collaboration with sites. Using a test-and-learn approach, the initiative aims to speed up national negotiations for all commercial contract research studies, helping to deliver the government’s target of cutting clinical trial set-up times to under 150 days. The goal is a research ecosystem that works better for patients and for the workforce delivering it.
